Forget-me-not floret is a small online florist based in the Yarra Valley, specialising in Weddings and Events.
Opened in early 2016
Our approach to floristry is to use the freshest flowers, in perfect condition, to create you something beautiful. Having studied floristry, Forget-me-not can offer any style of design you are after, from beautiful traditional design to those more innovative modern styles.
I”m Elizabeth Lilburn, the creator of Forget-me-not Floret.
My love for design started when I went and completed a Bachelor degree in Communication Design, where I studied art and design. Not that I knew it, but this was the first stepping stone to become a florist because I learnt about all the different aspects to design including placements, colour guides, balance and so much more.
Once I completed this degree I found my way into floristry where I studied at Marjorie Milner and worked as an apprentice in a reputable florist. I grew a lot in the time here and fell more in love with floristry everyday. It was also here that I also won the Casey Apprenticeship Award, this award was for hard working apprentices across the board, not just floristry.
. After working at this florist for a while, it was time for me to bloom (pun intended!) and start my own business, forget-me-not Floret and here I am.
While working in the flower industry I have competed in many different competitions and won multiple awards. One of my major accomplishments was coming first and receiving a gold medal in the Australian National Worldskills Competition, where I competed against some amazing florists from across the country, you can read about this here.
This competition also lead me to becoming an Australian Apprenticeship Ambassador, which I am very proud to be apart of. Click here to read more about this experience.
Thank you so much and enjoy
